You will be called during the ten days preceding each meeting. The reservation you make may be changed (additions / cancellations) up to 10:00 AM on Wednesday preceding each luncheon meeting. To make any changes call Oline Edge at 269-927-4157. If you do not call to cancel your reservation(s) by the deadline you will be billed for the cost of the luncheon(s).

Program: The Reverend Carl Bassett, "Grace at Ground Zero"
In addition to being pastor at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Niles, Michigan, Reverend Bassett is a chaplain for Hines V A Hospital in Chicago and for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He has debriefed hundreds of victims in the Oklahoma City bombing, TWA 800, Waco, Ruby Ridge, the embassy bombing in Nairobi, the Pentagon and World Trade Center on September 11, Kosovo atrocities, and other kidnappings, bank robberies, and homicides. His presentation, "Grace at Ground Zero," presents an eye witness account of the immediate aftermath of 9/11 with over 100 pictures taken at Ground Zero during his 14 days of debriefing.

Program: Cindy Frie, Berrien County Genealogical Society, "Doing a Geneology Search" &
Don Alsbro, Lest We Forget, "Veterans History Project"
Learn where and how to research in Berrien County for your ancestors. Learn what resources are available to research in Berrien County, even if your ancestors are not from Berrien County. Also, learn resources for researching your WWI and WWII ancestors. The Veterans History Project sponsored by the National Library of Congress will be explained briefly, including the upcoming book Wartime Reflections of SW Michigan Residents, which is being produced by Lest We Forget.

Program: Historian Donna Turtle Ochenryder, "The Railroad Cometh"
Donna, known as the "Unofficial Historian of South County,” was born and raised in Niles, Michigan, and graduated from Niles High School in 1951. Donna, who has catalogued over 13,700 digital photos, does presentations on veterans, the history of the railroad in Berrien County, and historical events in Niles. Her PowerPoint presentation The Railroad Cometh will be about the railroads in Michiana, including the 1848 Michigan Central Railroad, the 1871 Airline, the 1882 Big 4, the 1903 Interurban, and the 1919 MCRR Classification Yards.
